Senior Chief Yeoman Robert Jon Cox joined the US Navy after high school and after boot camp went directly into the submarine service.  During his 24 year career he served both at sea and a shore.  His first sea duty assignment was the USS Theodore Roosevelt (SSBN 600). He last sea duty assignment was the USS Helena (SSN 725).  He final assignment in the US Navy was a shore.  He retired in 2004.  Senior Chief Yeoman Robert Jon Cox is the author of The Battle Off Samar: Taffy III at Leyte Gulf.
