Commander Richard H. May, USN (ret.) is a World War II Ace and test pilot.  According to A History of U.S. Naval Carrier Aviation, on Commander Richard H. May’s World War II combat, “In air-to-air flights shot down six enemy planes confirmed, the seventh enemy plane shot down was confirmed and given to wingman.  Five probables and one damaged confirmed.”  Commander Richard H. May is the author of Hell Above.
