Don Geidel began his 23 year career with the United States Navy as a E-1 Seaman Recruit.  He retired as a Lieutenant Commander.  He considers the highlight of his career as the commanding officer of the USS Hurricane. Don Greidel is also a retired National City Police Department (California) police officer. He is a graduate of the University of Washington with a B.A. in political science and the University of San Diego with a master's degree in education. Don Geidel is the author of Ghetto Cop: Rookie Year.

According to the book description of Ghetto Cop: Rookie Year, it “is a mystery/thriller set in the National City, California police department. Written by a retired National City cop, this gritty police procedural is enhanced by the addition of a major character with paranormal abilities. Ben Olsen is a straight-arrow Wisconsin farm boy and Iraq war veteran who struggles to survive his rookie year as a ghetto cop. He battles criminals, bad cops, and a mysterious stalker who decides to kill him.

Will the paranormal abilities of Nacho, his homeless, alcoholic, wounded war veteran friend be enough to save Ben and Jackie, the woman of his dreams? Who is behind the series of frame-ups that jeopardize Ben’s budding career? As the compelling drama reaches its climax, Ben and Jackie must fight for their very lives.”
