Sergeant Gregory Allen Doyle of the
Upland Police Department (California) served in the United States Army from 1976 through 1979. He has been
in law enforcement for over 20 years, of which more than seven have been as a first line supervisor. He
is the author of The Sting of the Gadfly and God is not an Option.
According to the book description of
The Sting Of The Gadfly it “is a collection of poems, thoughts, songs, and short stories,
the majority of which are about God's interaction with Mankind, the necessity of faith, and the wellspring of hope that
occurs with a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. The publishing of the book was a gift from his wife, Linda,
for their 25th wedding anniversary. The book assembles a number of unique poetic writing styles and the author's personal
perspectives as a father, a husband, a police officer, a Christian, and a child of God. There are few satirical bumps in the
road to make the drive more enjoyable as well. It is hoped each reader will appreciate the great lengths God has gone to gain
his or her attention in eternity.”
According to the
book description of The Clarion
Call of Christ, “What would
you do with the rest of your life if
you discovered you only had one month
left to live? Do you suspect your
priorities might change? Would you see
life differently as you approached
death? Do you wonder if there is
something beyond the grave? Are you
willing to find out? The Clarion Call
of Christ examines the teachings of
Jesus of Nazareth, a man who claimed
to know about life after death.
According to a number of witnesses,
Jesus was executed then miraculously
resurrected from the grave to prove
the veracity of his message concerning
God's love for mankind. Where eternity
is concerned, are you willing to risk
all that you do not know about God
against what little you do? If that is
not the case, then you should consider
and pay heed to The Clarion Call of
Christ.”
According to the book description of
God Is Not an Option, it “is a collection of poems, thoughts, songs and short stories centered
on the God-shaped vacuum in your soul, custom-built by a loving Creator, long before you were born. Whether you agree or not,
no human being can truly live absent a relationship with God. As a Christian father, American, veteran, poet, songwriter and
police sergeant, author Greg Doyle brings to life his personal experiences and unshakable faith in God, while sharing intimate
insights into the Creator’s heart. What have you got to lose forever if you don’t know God? You can’t even
imagine it. Nothing you know on earth can compare to the wonders of heaven. Why gamble with your eternal future? From God’s
perspective, you are either with Him or you are not. No one knows what that looks like in eternity. Who honestly would decline
God’s invitation to join Him in paradise? Could you imagine that what you believe really matters to God? Realistically,
where you and eternity are concerned, God Is Not an Option.”

According to the book description of
The Stinging Salve, “As "The
Gadfly," Author Greg Doyle shares his
faith in God from many perspectives in
the hope something he has written will
meet the reader where he or she lives at
the moment. Whether one is seeking a
closer walk with God, questioning the
need for faith, turning the world view on
its ear, or churning a chuckle out of one
of life's rarer moments The Stinging
Salve shines some refreshing light into
the darkness this world has to offer. The
Gadfly shares his views on the failure of
some police management styles with the
essay, "Thoughts on Status Quo
Leadership." He turns over many popular
Christian notions of what Jesus looks
like in his foreword, called "Do You Know
A Different Jesus?" and his essay called
"The Marine Corps Model." And he delves
deeper into understanding specific
teachings of Jesus in ways rarely
explored from the modern pulpit. In order to
understand God, the Creator of love, one
must examine the heart. The Stinging
Salve looks into the heart of God through
the eyes and words of Jesus in a
refreshing way. Jesus offers the antidote
to the dark poisons of this world. And
though what Jesus reveals may at time
seem painful, it is the only way the
healing process can begin for the wounded
soul.” |
