Bowery, Jr., USA is a United States Army aviation officer, military history and has been a military history instructor at West Point; completed the Command and General Officer’s Course at Fort Leavenworth, served with the First Infantry Division in Germany; and, completed a tour in Iraq.

Counting three Confederate Army soldiers among his storied ancestors, he was born and raised in New Kent County, Virginia, a suburb of Richmond on the outskirts of the Army of Northern Virginia's first battlefields.
