L.W. Berrie "graduated from California State University, Los Angeles with a bachelors degree in mathematics and science. He spent two and a half years in the Navy before he was discharged for medical reasons. After that, Berrie worked for 23 years in the aerospace industry programming air defense systems for Europe as well as military command and control systems for ships and planes, strategic systems and intelligence systems for the Army, Navy and Air Force. After the fall of the Berlin Wall, he went back to school in the Legal Assistance Program at the University of California at Irvine. He is currently retired."  L.W. Berrie is the author of Strike at the Heart: The First Mission.
