Robert Downey began his law enforcement
career with the Oakland Police Department. After his Air Force service during the Korean War, he joined the Beverly Hills
Police Department. He advanced through the ranks to Lieutenant and eventually moved to San Juan County, Washington as Undersheriff.
He closed out his career as a Senior Special Agent with the Treasury Department U.S. Customs Service.
