Lieutenant Colonel Lawrence J.
Bellarts, USAF (ret.) is the author of two memoirs: Red-Tailed Peacemaker and Bird with
a Broken Wing. According
to the book description of Red-Tailed Peacemaker, “Bellarts shares his first-hand experiences
as a pilot in three wars: World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War — from 1941 to 1968. Bellart flew in combat
conditions in all three wars and was involved in many situations with varying degrees of danger. Also included are comments
regarding some little known events that occurred in those years.”

Bird with a Broken Wing, “Lawrence J. Bellarts shares first-hand experiences as a pilot in
World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War, as well as intriguing incidents from his career as a Bank Auditor, Bank
Examiner, a Trust Examiner and an Investigator of failed banks. During a trip to the Soviet Union in 1990, he risked attracting
the interest of the then still powerful KGB by photographing the super-secret Russian Missile Research Center.”
