Lieutenant Colonel Larry J. Chesley,
USAF (ret.), enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1956. In 1960, after his discharge he attended
college and graduated with a BS in History and Political Science. He returned to the Air Force via Officer
Training School. After flight school he volunteered for squadron to Thailand. In April
1966, his F4C aircraft was shot down over North Vietnam. He was held prisoner for over seven years and
is the author of Seven Years in Hanoi: A POW Tells his Story.
